Camp gives our students a chance to get out of their slum settings and spend time in a healthy, stimulating environment focused on learning and fun.
We have implemented a new structure for our camp, organizing it based on school levels to maximize its effectiveness. Unlike previous years, when camp took place only in August, it will now be held throughout the year. The revamped camp comprises the following categories:
- Grammar Camp
This one-day camp is designed for younger students and includes an exciting visit to a national park or conservancy, offering them an opportunity for exploration and adventure.
- Junior Camp
The junior camp aims to ignite curiosity among students and equip them with the necessary tools and support to realize their potential. It offers a blend of fun activities that foster innovation, creativity, and life skills development. The camps’ projects are aligned with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) introduced in Kenyan schools.
- Senior Camp
This camp aims to facilitate a smooth transition to secondary school for primary school graduates. It involves engaging them in team-building activities and workshops focused on personal development and goal setting. Older students are also prepared to act as buddies for the younger ones, imparting valuable soft skills to navigate high school life confidently.
- Post-secondary Career Camp
This specialized camp is for high school graduates who have not yet joined higher learning institutions. Its purpose is to prepare them through career training and guide them through the college and university placement process. Discussions with “buddies”, who are post-secondary students in various careers, help participants explore different courses and make informed institutional choices.
- Alumni Camp
The alumni camp celebrates the achievements of post-secondary graduates and welcomes them into the alumni department. It includes job preparedness training, employability skills development, and emotional intelligence workshops. The sessions cover essential topics such as job interview skills, entrepreneurship, and career development, empowering the alumni in the job market.
