Gift Policy

This Gift Policy provides guidance to sponsors as to how they can offer additional financial support for their student. If you wish to send your student a gift, please email staff@ngongroad.org.
*NOTE* These gifts to students are not considered tax-deductible.

Primary and Secondary Students

FoNR does not accept cash gifts from sponsors for primary or secondary students. If a sponsor wishes to offer extra financial assistance, a donation to FoNR’s general fund will support the fulfillment of both basic and emergency needs that are provided for families and students in our program.

Secondary Student Graduates

A gift of up to $150 may be remitted to a student on the occasion of their high school graduation. Their Case Manager will help them select the gift.

Post-Secondary Students

A sponsor may gift their post-secondary student a particular item needed for them to continue their studies. This can be coordinated with our staff by contacting staff@ngongroad.org.

Alternatively, sponsors can contribute to our laptop lending program allowing for the purchase of laptops that are lent to post-secondary students during their studies.

A gift of up to $150 may be remitted to a student on the occasion of their post-secondary graduation.

Alumni

Alumni are no longer financially supported by their sponsor or by NRCF. Alumni and sponsors can communicate via the portal or by WhatsApp or other means if they both so desire. Should a sponsor wish to offer a gift of cash to an alumnus, they would do so without involving FoNR, such as via xoom.com.
