Washingtone Aura

IT Assistant

Washingtone joined the organization in 2023, with a great interest in guiding students as they enhance and develop ICT capability and computer literacy skills. He was born and raised in Kakamega County, Western Kenya. He completed his primary education in 2010 and his secondary education in 2014. In 2015, he enrolled at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, graduating in 2019.

While at university, Washingtone began volunteering to teach computer studies to secondary school students in Kakamega County. He tutored and guided candidates for their final KNEC examinations in Computer Studies, and developed a passion for teaching and interacting with students.

In 2019, Washingtone joined High School as a junior ICT teacher, where he was responsible for IT resources and training students in IT skills. He also provided technical support and guidance to student classes of 2019, 2020, and 2021 for their database projects during their final year of secondary education, helping them transition to tertiary education. In 2021, he joined the International School to teach the (IGCSE) ICT Cambridge curriculum.

In 2022, Washingtone interned at KCA University in the distance learning department, where he provided technical assistance to end users of the Learning Management System (Moodle) and demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm, professionalism, loyalty, and competence.

Washingtone joined NRCF in 2023 as an IT and Computer Lab assistant, bringing his passion for teaching and guiding students to help them enhance and develop their ICT capability and computer literacy skills.
